Warren Wassom is an incurable do-it-yourselfer, and is not afraid to hang his hide on the product of his own hands. Over his adult life he has built and flown two airplanes, walking away from a minor crash of the first. He currently flies his second. Other projects include building a ski boat, restoring a 61 Ford Pick up, and doing his own renovation in completing a new dental office. He has built numerous radio control airplanes, a complete 2-car garage and various pieces of ham radio equipment. Warren will do it himself if at all possible.
He is the father of 5 boys and 2 girls and will be grandpa to 18 by mid 2002. He married his sweetheart, Sharon Draayer Stuart of Twin Falls Idaho in 1968. Contrary to his story, which describes Black Pine as a vital farm community, there isn't much there.
The name of "Clyde McFadden" has been in his mind for years, telling his children bedtime stories about this fictitious character who lived in Black Pine. When it came time to write, the choice was obvious. Of course, some of himself has been poured into his main character, especially his love of flying.
