Bergeta Williams

Emma Bergeta Williams was born on February 2, 1903 in Chihuahua, Mexico, to James Peter Jesperson and Emma Ida Johnson. At the time of the Mexican Revolution her family left their home for the safety on the United States, and settled in Arizona. She married Vernal J. Williams in the Mesa, Arizona temple on July 2, 1922. In 1937 they moved their family to Utah. Emma was a poet and short story writer. She was president of the Utah Valley Chapter of the Poetry Society. During her time as president they published two volumes of poetry in two different years.
