Boyd K. Packer

Elder Boyd K. Packer was sustained as Assistant to the Quoram of the Twelve Apostles on October 3, 1969 and was ordained an Apostle on December 2, 1971. While serving as a General Authority he has been interested in the role and significance of the arts in the Church.

Bomber pilot in the Pacific theater during World War II. After receiving his education he entered the seminary and institute program. Elder Packer became an assistant administrator of seminaries and institutes and served on the board of education of the Unified Church School System and the board of trustees of Brigham Young University.
