Elsie Talmage Brandley was the daughter of James Edward and Mary May Booth Talmage. She married Harold C. Brandley in 1917.
Elsie Brandley was a prominent writer and editor. She contributed a column to the Salt Lake Tribune called "Hello Life" under the name Brenda Lee. She was the associate editor of the Improvement Era, and co-editor of a volume of contemporary Utah verse entitled "Utah Sings." After her marriage, Elsie and her husband moved to Alberta, Canada where they lived for several years before returning to Salt Lake City.
