Estelle Webb Thomas, daughter of Edward M. and Charlotte M. Maxwell Webb, grew up in Mormon settlements in Chihuahua and Sonora, Mexico. Her family moved to Tucson, Arizona, after the Mexican Revolution made it unsafe for Americans to remain in Mexico. She taught school in Arizona for about 15 years. She married James H. Thomas. Estelle was an avid writer and painter.
