Lyman Dayton is a director and producer of family friendly films. He directed: The Last Resort (1997), Second Chance (1996), The Dream Machine (1990), The Red Fury (1984), Solo (1984), The Avenging (1982), Rivals (1979), and Baker's Hawk (1976). He produced Against a Crooked Sky (1975), Seven Alone (1974), and Where the Red Fern Grows (1974). He also produced several direct-to-video feature films, including Second Chance (1996). He wrote the screenplay for Where the Red Fern Grows and the TV movie On Our Own (1988). He also directed and co-wrote the 2003 remake of Where the Red Fern Grows. Dayton is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He lives in Santa Clara, Utah.
