Marian G. Nielson

Marian Nielson was born December 6, 1903 to James H. and Rhoda Huffaker Gardner. She married Josephh L. Nielson in the Salt Lake Temple. Marian was an English teacher for more than 15 years in the San Juan High School in Blanding. She also served on the county library board. Twice she was recipient of a Salt Lake City newspaper Christmas story award. She was co-author of the "Saga of San Juan," a county history told in pageants, skits and poems. In 1967 she received Blanding's "Mother of the Year" award. She was active in the LDS Church and was YWMIA president.
