Martha T. Fugate

Martha Lucretia Tucker Fugate was born September 23, 1920 in Idmon, Idaho to Rufus Dudley and Sarah Merrell Tucker. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1941, and after a short teaching and social work career, enlisted in the Navy as a WAVE in 1944. While serving, she met Ralph G. Fugate. They were married in 1945. Martha was an active member of the Utah Poetry Society and many of her works were published.
