Maurine was born September 21, 1914, in Swan Lake, Idaho to Ruby Elthura Merrill and Samuel Leonidas Beckstead. She married Dale Schwartz Hansen, May 29, 1946, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. She sang 13 years in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and made motherhood her lifetime work.She had an artistic heart and loved music and poetry.
