Susan is a believer in lifelong education, she attended Utah State University and the University of Utah and is currently studying at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She also claims to have an honorary degree from the School of Hard Knocks.
She won the Imitation Erma Bombeck contest for her story “The Ghost of Housework Past” and was also a runner-up the following year for her story “Fictional Dirt,” both of them stories about women who hate housework. (Go figure.) Last fall she completed the National Novel Writing Month challenge and wrote a 50,000 word novel during the month of November.
