Virginia Sorensen

Despite earning a degree in journalism, Sorensen devoted herself to fiction after studying creative writing under Yvor Winters at Stanford. Her first novel, A Little Lower than the Angels, appeared in 1942 to favorable reviews and launched her career as a novelist.
