Walter Maughan

Walter was born in Madison, Wisconsin on February 14, 1930. His parents were J. Howard and Hattie Maughan. He grew up with his four siblings in Logan, Utah where he graduated from Logan High School. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education and later received his Masters in education psychology from Utah State. He taught Elementary Education in Wyoming and California, and taught Special Education in Utah's Alpine School District.

Walter married Shirley Alice Jensen on December 21, 1953 in the Logan Utah Temple. He was a veteran and served in the US Army right after the Korean War.
