Zara Sabin

Zara Area Sabin was the daughter of Ara Williams and Amanda Marcella Gardner Sabin. She graduated from the University of Utah in 1915 with a bachelors degree in English. She worked as a reporter for the Deseret News. Zara was never married and devoted her life to her church and her literary love. She spent a lot of time in her garden where she tended her roses and other plants. From her garden she composed countless poems, many of which are contained in "So Near My Heart," her single published book of verse.
