Mrs. Carroll is preparing for the Christmas season and notices that her son, Scottie, has been acting mysterious. On Christmas Eve as the family is preparing for dinner, Mrs. Carroll notices that Scottie is missing. They all go out to look for him, and Mrs. Carroll finds him at their old neighbor, Mr. Wright's, house. Scottie has been spending time with lonely Mr. Wright. Mrs. Carroll learns that he isn't a grumpy old man, but someone in need of a friend.
