Fiction, Short Story
Abigail, Warren, and Paul are on their way to Utah when they encounter a group of Native Americans. The chief demands that Abigail and Warren give him their son, Paul. Warren tells the man he will have to come back later for Paul. Later in the day, Warren isn't around when the chief returns to claim Paul. Abigail hides Paul in her skirts and gives the chief her food and jewelry instead. He leaves satisfied, and they rush to tell Warren about what happened.
