A woman is upset when she has to move towns for her husband's job. She doesn't want to leave the home they have lived in, and she worries that no one will appreciate all the hard work she put into her garden. On their way to the new town, this woman and her husband stop in her hometown. She goes to visit her childhood home, and at first she is upset to see that everything has changed. However, she soon realizes that the lilacs her mother planted are still there, and the family that lives in her home still appreciates them. Her heart is warmed as she realizes that she left a legacy through her garden in her old home.
