Jessie is having a hard time getting in the Christmas spirit after her mom's death. One afternoon she goes to town to buy a present for her dad with the money that she and her mom earned. When she gets to the store, she meets a little boy who is crying because he doesn't have a Christmas tree. Jessie decides to buy this boy, Terry, a Christmas tree instead of a present for her dad. When she tells her dad about this experience, he reassures her that serving others is the best gift she could have given him.
