Fiction, Short Story
A young man arrives at a town where everyone is sick. He is told to fetch Doctor Keaver, and elderly man, to help them. Doctor Keaver says the problem is that the people have no meat and that the only meat they know how to properly cook is fish, which there are none of. Doctor Keaver insists on travelling to the town himself despite his age, and when he and the young man arrive, they see that the river has flooded, bringing fish, and Doctor Keaver says that his prayer has been answered. The young man is confused since he hadn't heard the doctor pray, but learns that prayer is the soul's sincerest desire, and it does not have to be spoken aloud.
