Salt Lake City: General Board of Relief Society, June 1931

  • Lella M. Hoggan: Author
Fiction, Short Story
A widow struggles to make ends meet, but an interesting proposition presents itself in the form of a saleswoman. The widow goes to lectures about the auto-suggestion philosophy and listens to a fortune teller who promises her happiness. When the saleswoman brings her a contract, the widow nearly signs it, but the promptings of the Holy Ghost and the scriptures her son is reading convince her not to, and the contract turns out to be a scam.
