  • Douglas H. Thayer: Author
Fiction, Short Story
Greg wakes up on Sunday morning consumed with guilt about having gotten his girlfriend Kellie pregnant. He has promised her he'll marry her after confessing to the bishop, but he can't bear the thought of people knowing what he's done, the way their opinions of him will change, the wrench it will throw in his life plans. He goes about his morning as normally as possible, but he's found there's no joy for him in life anymore and he can't feel clean no matter what he does.
