Mary Ann and Kim Freeman are adjusting to life caring for Kim's father, who is living with them while he recovers from hip surgery. Their children, Rosemary and Tommy, have accepted more responsibility in order to help relieve their parents' financial burdens, but money is still tight for the family. Grandfather Freeman's state of mind takes a turn for the worse as he feels he is burdening the family and wishes he could return to his beloved home in Utah.
