Plan of salvation narrative; premortal existence
Though not a direct adaptation, this work has strong echoes of an earlier plan of salvation narrative, Nephi Anderson's novel, Added Upon. First performed 1974 at Brigham Young University, directed by Harold Oaks. This wildly popular stage play went through multiple productions in the 1970s (revised and revived in the 1990s) and has been seen by some 4 million people. It has had considerable impact upon the subsequent development of popular (especially musical) Mormon drama.
