From the cover: Martin Harris tells a young man the story of the lost manuscript, emphasizing the truth that "the works, and the designs, and the purposes of God cannot be frustrated" (D&C 3:1).
The young man, a British convert, meets an aging Harris while lodging with a new employer in pioneer Utah; the bulk of the story is told in flashback, related in the course of an entire night. The flashback includes a depiction of "the wicked men" altering the lost manuscript, and another flashback to Mormon receiving the inspiration to include Nephi's small plates with his record.
Included as the second installment of the 1999 "Teachings from the Doctrine and Covenants and Church History" compilation video; hence done for the CES and use in Gospel Doctrine classes. Also included on Disc 1, installment 5 of the three-disc "Church History: Home and Family Collection" DVD set.
