A woman in Grand Rapids, Michigan, promised to serve God forever if He healed her dying daughter. God healed her daughter, but despite her efforts to follow God, she felt lost and empty. Eventually, she prayed to ask God why He had forsaken her, and she was told that she would be led to the truth by two men teaching the gospel. Later, a missionary showed up at her door, and she nearly turned him away when she realized he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She received an impression to keep listening to him, and eventually she was converted. However, there was little religious tolerance in Grand Rapids, and she was to be consigned to an insane asylum and separated from her children for her new faith. The woman prayed for God to save her, and in answer a mysterious woman showed up at her court trial to argue on her behalf and convince the judge to let the woman go free and reunite with her children.
