Stanford, California: Dialogue Foundation, Winter 2006

  • Julie J. Nichols: Author
Fiction, Short Story
A woman with a successful technical writing career continues to work full-time after having a baby. Her husband and her father think she should spend more time raising the baby, but she feels she has a handle on the balance between work and home life. She begins to get to know the nanny better, who teaches her about astrology and points out the different worlds she lives in simultaneously.

And the Lord God said unto Moses: For mine own purpose have I made these things . . . .

And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose. (Moses 1:30-33)
